Two Virginia parents now face murder charges in connection with the death of an infant.
36-year-old Dontae Taylor and 25-year-old Chante Smith were arrested after medics were called to their Portsmouth home for a report of an unresponsive infant.
The child was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
An autopsy has since been completed, and both Taylor and Smith are now facing felony murder charges, along with child abuse, neglect, and cruelty to children.
Both are being held without bond.

The charges come as a result of an investigation by the Portsmouth Police Department and the Child Protective Services. According to investigators, the infant died from head trauma. Taylor and Smith are scheduled to appear in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
