Oakland, California – In a decisive move amid the city’s prolonged search for a new police chief, Mayor Sheng Thao has sent shockwaves by rejecting all three final candidates proposed by the Oakland Police Commission. The rejected trio comprised former Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong, ousted earlier in the year by Mayor Thao herself due to mishandling two Internal Affairs investigations, San Leandro Police Chief Abdul Pridgen under investigation for policy violations, and Kevin Hall, the assistant police chief in Tucson, Arizona.
