The FBI has announced a substantial reward of up to ten thousand dollars for any information leading to the capture of Joshua Campos, a fugitive wanted in connection with a murder case in Southwest Miami-Dade. Campos is believed to have fled to Texas, Georgia, or Alabama, nearly three years after the fatal shooting of a young father outside an apartment complex.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was tragically killed in the incident, leaving behind two young children. Miami-Dade Police Detective Oscar Andino has been leading the investigation, and authorities suspect that Campos may be accompanied by his girlfriend, Maxine McCord.
McCord’s family has expressed deep concern for her safety, fearing that she might be held against her will as they have been unable to contact her. Due to the likelihood that Campos and McCord have crossed state lines, the FBI has initiated a widespread effort to locate them, including the deployment of digital billboards across the Gulf region.
FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mark McCormick has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding Campos and McCord’s whereabouts. He emphasized that Campos should be considered armed and dangerous, heightening the urgency of apprehending him.
The victim’s family, including the father and grandmother of the deceased, are pleading for assistance from the community. The father, who is now responsible for caring for his two grandchildren following the tragic loss of their parent, is hopeful that justice will be served swiftly.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Joshua Campos or Maxine McCord’s location to contact the FBI immediately. The reward offered underscores the seriousness of the case and the determination of law enforcement to bring the suspects to justice.
