Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a visit to an air force base, emphasized that Israel is prepared for potential confrontations not just in Gaza but also in other areas. He highlighted the ongoing conflict in Gaza, efforts to secure the release of hostages, and readiness for challenges from various fronts.
President Joe Biden has also expressed apprehension about Iran’s potential attack on Israel, warning against such actions. The Middle East is now bracing for possible escalation, given recent threats and heightened military activities.
The situation is particularly tense following Iran’s warning of retaliation for an Israeli strike on an Iranian embassy in Syria, which resulted in the deaths of two Iranian generals. Reports from U.S. intelligence suggest that Iran could launch an attack on Israeli soil within the next 24 to 48 hours, further raising concerns about regional stability.
Meanwhile, Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer addressed reports of hostages kidnapped in October, stating that according to U.S. officials cited by The New York Times, most of the hostages are believed to be dead.
