Police Operation Rescues 27 At-Risk Children from Human Trafficking in Tampa Bay

In a recent intensive operation led by the U.S. Marshals Service in Tampa Bay, Florida, a total of 27 at-risk children have been rescued from potential human trafficking and other perilous situations. The successful operation, named “Operation Seminole Saber,” marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against human trafficking in the region.

The joint effort involved collaboration between the U.S. Marshals Service, alongside local and state police departments, focusing on Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Deputy Marshal Mario Price, speaking to News Channel 8, highlighted the urgency and dedication with which law enforcement approached this mission, emphasizing the priority placed on locating and rescuing missing children.

During the five-week operation, law enforcement officials were able to close almost all of the 33 missing child assistance cases opened, reflecting the effectiveness of their coordinated efforts. The rescued children, deemed severely at-risk, were promptly transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for thorough evaluations, including assessments for potential abuse or other health concerns.
