Testifying in Lower Manhattan, Uribe disclosed that he provided the luxury car to Menendez’s wife, Nadine, in exchange for “power and influence.”
Adding to the intrigue, FBI agents have testified about a 2019 surveillance operation in Washington, D.C. Investigator Terrie Williams-Thompson recounted to the jury an evening at Morton’s restaurant where an FBI team observed Menendez and his girlfriend, Nadine Arslanian, dining with others. Williams-Thompson overheard Arslanian asking, “What else can the love of my life do for you?” This surveillance was part of a broader investigation that linked Menendez to potential corruption.
Uribe’s testimony implicates both Senator Menendez and Wael Hana, an Egyptian American who owns a New Jersey halal meat company. Prosecutors allege that Hana’s company funneled bribes to Menendez and his wife. Uribe, who struck a plea deal with authorities, is cooperating with the prosecution against Menendez.
