Comer claims that many federal offices remain largely empty years after the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting that the administration’s reluctance to provide detailed statistics on teleworking rates among federal employees is a deliberate attempt to obscure the situation. “President Biden is prioritizing the happiness of federal workers over the needs of the American public,” Comer told the Daily Mail. “By allowing widespread telework, he’s essentially buying their votes for the next election.”
Comer, who serves as the Chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, has called for the administration to release comprehensive data on federal teleworking practices.
