Witnesses report hearing him exclaim, “F–k it,” before making his ascent. The event was captured on video by tourist David Stanley, who described the scene as “surreal.”
As the man began his climb, Secret Service agents inside the White House grounds quickly mobilized, with rooftop snipers and K9 units moving into position. The climber reached the top of the fence but became entangled on the spikes, leading him to retreat and descend back to the ground, where agents promptly apprehended him.
