In a daring heist at Orlando’s Mall at Millenia, 32-year-old Jaythan Gilder allegedly impersonates a representative for an Orlando Magic player to access high-value items at Tiffany & Co. On February 26, 2025, Gilder is escorted to a VIP room where he is shown two pairs of diamond earrings valued at $769,500 and a diamond ring worth $587,000. Surveillance footage reportedly captures Gilder seizing the jewelry and fleeing the scene, injuring an employee in the process.

Authorities track Gilder’s vehicle using public safety cameras, locating it on Interstate 10 in Washington County, Florida, en route to Texas. During the arrest, Gilder allegedly swallows several items believed to be the stolen earrings. A body scan conducted at the jail reveals foreign objects in his stomach, suspected to be the missing jewelry. Gilder reportedly asks jail staff, “Am I going to be charged with what’s in my stomach?”

Gilder’s criminal history includes a similar incident in 2022 at a Tiffany & Co. store in Texas, as well as 48 outstanding warrants in Colorado. He currently faces charges of robbery with a mask and first-degree grand theft.
