Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is pushing back against claims made in veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s upcoming book, War, which alleges that Trump has made multiple phone calls to Russian President Vladimir Putin since leaving office in January 2021. A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign has firmly denied the claims, calling the story “completely false.”

The book, which is scheduled for release next week, reportedly explores the connections between Trump and Putin, alongside other geopolitical issues. Trump’s team has stated that he did not provide access or interviews to Woodward for this latest work, unlike his previous cooperation with the journalist for earlier publications. The campaign has dismissed the allegations as part of a continued effort to undermine Trump’s character.

“This is just another fabricated story to distract from the real issues,” a Trump campaign spokesperson said. “President Trump has not spoken to Vladimir Putin since leaving office, and any claims to the contrary are simply untrue.”

Woodward’s book is also expected to delve into current geopolitical dynamics, including what it describes as a strained and “tumultuous” relationship between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The book promises to give readers insight into the international power struggles that have defined the last few years, adding another layer of tension to an already contentious political landscape.

The Kremlin is confirming former President Trump and Russian President Putin sent one another COVID-19 tests during the pandemic. That’s according to a Bloomberg report. Journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, “War,” was the first to report the story. A Kremlin spokesperson told Bloomberg that the testing devices were sent, but denies the book’s claims that Putin and Trump spoke on the phone after Trump left the White House.

Trump’s relationship with Putin has been a focal point of media and political scrutiny both during and after his presidency. However, the former president’s team insists that the latest allegations are yet another attempt to paint him in a negative light ahead of the 2024 election.

As Woodward’s book gears up for release, the claims are likely to spark renewed discussions about Trump’s foreign policy ties and post-presidency activities, potentially adding fuel to ongoing political debates as Election Day looms.
