(Washington, DC) – Former Vice President Mike Pence has expressed his agreement with the United States’ support of Ukraine but criticized President Joe Biden for what he perceives as a slow response. During an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation, Pence stated that the Biden administration has been sluggish in delivering the promised weapons to Ukraine, a matter of concern.

Having recently returned from a visit to Ukraine, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Pence commended the Ukrainian leader, the Ukrainian people, and the country’s military. He credited their resilience and determination as the primary reason behind Russia’s decline from “being the second most powerful military in the world to being the second most powerful military in Ukraine.”

The remarks made by Mike Pence shed light on the ongoing debate over the Biden administration’s handling of Ukraine aid. While expressing support for the Ukrainian government, Pence suggested that the delivery of promised weapons has not been timely, potentially hampering Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian aggression.

The former vice president’s comments come amidst heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with the conflict in eastern Ukraine still unresolved. The United States has been a key ally for Ukraine, providing financial assistance, military aid, and political support in its struggle against Russian encroachment.
