(Tel Aviv) — Speaking in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, families described the last messages received from loved ones after the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel over the weekend. One mother said she knew the last message she got from her son saying “I’m sorry” meant something had happened that would cause her worry. On Monday, the White House confirmed at least eleven Americans have been killed in the fighting. President Biden said it’s likely Americans have been taken hostage by Hamas.

She provided details on the last known whereabouts of her son and others who were at a music festival when Hamas attacked Israel.
