An Ohio father-son duo and a social media influencer from Long Island are facing legal consequences for their involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot, adding to the ongoing legal actions against individuals linked to the insurrection.
The Ohio father-son pair, Michael Mackrell and teen son, have been charged in connection with their participation in the Capitol riot. Both individuals are now facing jail time as authorities continue to investigate and prosecute those involved in the attack on the Capitol.
In a separate case, Isabella Maria DeLuca, a social media influencer from Long Island, has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing, and theft of government property related to the Capitol riot. DeLuca, known for her online presence with 333 thousand followers on social media, was taken into custody last Friday in California.
According to the FBI, DeLuca was captured on video footage during the Capitol riot, where she was seen passing a table out of a broken window to rioters. These rioters subsequently used the table to attack law enforcement officers inside the Capitol building. DeLuca’s actions during the riot have led to charges against her for her role in the violence and destruction that occurred that day.
DeLuca’s online statements have also come under scrutiny, particularly her justification of the Capitol riot based on constitutional grounds. She wrote on social media, “According to the Constitution, it’s our house,” implying support for the violent breach of the Capitol.
Furthermore, DeLuca has a prior connection to political circles, having served as a former intern for Long Island GOP Congressman Lee Zeldin. This connection has drawn additional attention to her case and raised questions about her motivations and affiliations during the Capitol riot.
As investigations into the Capitol riot continue, authorities are actively pursuing individuals who participated in the events of January 6th, regardless of their backgrounds or affiliations. The arrests and charges against the Ohio father-son duo and Isabella Maria DeLuca highlight the ongoing legal repercussions facing those involved in the assault on the Capitol and serve as a reminder of the seriousness of such actions.
